The Better Challenge Terms and Conditions – they’re T&Cs but BETTER!

The Kids’ Cancer Project Better Challenge (the ‘Event’) is a campaign run by The Kids’ Cancer Project. The initiative was created to raise funds and awareness for the charity, supporting their vision of a one hundred per cent survival rate for children with cancer while eradicating the harmful impacts treatment can bring.

The 90km challenge starts from 1 September 2022 and ends on 31st September 2022. 

The Charity conducting the competition is The Kids’ Cancer Project (ABN 13 061 138 181) of Suite 1, Level 1, 789 Botany Road, Rosebery NSW, 2018 (the “Charity”).

THE EVENT: 

By registering for the Event, you confirm that you are over the age of 18 or otherwise have the required parental permission to take part. You acknowledge and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

The decision to participate in the Event is entirely your own and you take full responsibility for any consequence of your participation in the Event for yourself and/or your participants.

You acknowledge that The Kids’ Cancer Project reserves the right to amend the Terms and Conditions of the Event at any time.

These Terms are effective until terminated by us, which we may do at any time and without notice to you.

Any cost associated with registering for the event are the entrant’s responsibility and is dependent on the Internet service provider used.

FUNDRAISING:

You acknowledge that by registering for the Event, you pledge to attempt to raise funds for The Kids’ Cancer Project.  

You acknowledge that by registering for the Event, you pledge to follow our Fundraising Guidelines

All fundraising conducted for this Event comes under The Kids’ Cancer Project’s authority to fundraise in the respective State or Territory in Australia.

You agree to be bound by the relevant state and national fundraising legislation.

REFUNDS: 

In most cases, The Kids’ Cancer Project can refund a donation made in error. If you wish to request a refund, please contact The Kids’ Cancer Project via thebetterchallenge@tkcp.org.au


USER CONTENT: 

Any content you post to your fundraising page (e.g. photos or videos, text) is your responsibility, and you must have the necessary rights to post that content (including the consent of others who feature in the content). You must ensure content does not violate or infringe upon the rights of any third party (including, any rights of intellectual property, copyright, trademark, publicity or privacy). The Kids’ Cancer Project retains the right to delete any content posted.



PRIVACY:

The Kids’ Cancer Project respects and is committed to protecting the privacy of the personal information it collects.

The Kids’ Cancer Project will collect your personal information and any other information you may volunteer so that we can: administer and conduct the Event; and keep you informed about The Kids’ Cancer Project, its fundraising activities and the important work you are supporting.

The Kids’ Cancer Project may use your image, name and challenge result in any promotion relating to this Event, including in the Leaderboards and/or on the Event website.

The Charity collects personal information (“PI“) in order to conduct the Event and may, for this purpose, disclose such PI to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers and prize suppliers. Entry is conditional on providing this PI. The Charity will also use and handle PI as set out in its Privacy Policy, which can be viewed at https://www.thekidscancerproject.org.au/privacy-policy.  


INCENTIVE PRIZES:

You must be registered for The Kids’ Cancer Project Better Challenge and have created a fundraising page to be eligible for any prizes.

You must reach specified milestones to be eligible to receive these prizes:

Raise at least $222 – receive a limited-edition Better Challenge Cap (limited to the first 500 who reach this milestone and have supplied an address upon registration).

Raise $600 – receive a limited-edition Better Challenge Keyring (limited to the first 500 who reach this milestone and have supplied an address upon registration). 

Raise $2,500 – go into the draw to win a travel package.

Register before July 31, 2022 – go into the draw to win an Apple Watch Series 7. 

Prizes may be distributed for reasons outside these milestones at the charity’s discretion.

Prizes cannot be redeemed or exchanged for any other products.

The Kids’ Cancer Project accepts no responsibility for any loss, damages, or injury incurred to enter the competition or in connection with taking up the prizes.

Prizes will be shipped by standard post to the winners at mailing addresses supplied upon registration, or where possible, emailed to the email used for registration. Shipping may be subject to delays.

Once prizes have left The Kids’ Cancer Project premises, we take no responsibility for prizes damaged, delayed or lost in transit.

Winners of any prize draws will be drawn at random at The Kids’ Cancer Project office. Winners will be notified by phone or email. The winner of each prize draw will be the first name drawn at random. If a prize is unclaimed, a redraw will take place. 

If for any reason a winner does not take a prize or notify the Charity that they have not received their prize by 4 weeks after the Mailing Date or such later time as the time stipulated by the Charity in its discretion, then the prize (or that element of the prize) will be forfeited.

If any prize is unavailable or it is impracticable for any reason for the Charity to provide the specified prize at the time of delivery, the Charity, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification.

Prizes will be mailed by 30 November 2022 (“Mailing Date”) to each winning entrant’s home address provided to the Charity 

Any ancillary costs associated with redeeming prizes are not included. 

If the winner of any prize is under the age of 18 years, the prize will be awarded to the winner’s parent or guardian

MATCHED GIVING DAYS:

Dollar Match Day will take place on 16 September, 2022 from 9am until funds are exhausted, up to $25,000. 

Match amount is capped at $500 per donation. 

AUTHORITY TO FUNDRAISE:

Agreement to these terms and conditions via registration of the Event gives the registered The Better Challenge participant authority to fundraise in support of the work of The Kids’ Cancer Project for the following fundraising event:
